In November of 2016, Santa Clara County voters approved Measure A - a $950 million Affordable Housing Bond. It was projected that the Housing Bond would fund 120 new affordable housing developments over ten years, including 4,800 new units dedicated to Extremely Low-Income and Very Low-Income households.Council Member Glenn Hendricks, Sunnyvale's representative on the Measure A Oversight Committee, will give us an update on the distribution of funds from this measure.He will also provide an update on transportation funding for Sunnyvale. Our first item for Wednesday's meeting will be an update on Downtown Sunnyvale developments from Travis Duncan of CityLine. Between the ongoing construction of Whole Foods and the recently announced closing of Macy's, there will be a lot to talk about. Next we will discuss the CASA Compact. CASA is a ten point plan developed by MTC and ABAG (the Association of Bay Area Governments) to solve the housing crisis, and is based on three pillars: protecting tenants, preserving existing affordable housing, and producing new housing.
